Suppression vs. removal
There are two ways to deal with a negative search result: remove it, or suppress it. Removal is sometimes possible — for content that violates a platform’s policies or the law — but it’s the exception. Suppression is the workhorse of reputation management: we create and rank strong, positive content above the negative result so it drops to page two or beyond, where research shows almost no one ever looks.
The honest framing matters: we’re not hiding the truth, we’re making sure one old or unfair result doesn’t outweigh an otherwise strong reputation.
